Sorry I took so long to get back. I lost my wifi for a few days and just got it back. I did one paid review on Kirkus for a novel. It got a good review and sold a few books, but wasn't worth the money. I think to use these paid ads effectively, you already have to have a large following. Otherwise the royalties gained are minuscule.
I know it happens, but I just can't imagine paying for reviews. It'd be like paying to have a publisher/agent represent my book. I know some writers have done well doing this, but ... it's like a bad taste in my mouth. What do you think?
