My New Venture
I've had plenty of help from other writers and authors over the years. I've also gained a lot of experience and a measure of expertise in fiction writing , self-publishing and book marketing. Recently, I decide it's time to give back by helping less experienced writers and authors.
That's easy to say, but much harder to actually accomplish. For instance, where on the web do you stash all the content? How do you even go about finding a suitable site? How do you get others to learn about the site? What format will be the content be in? Do people have to pay to access the content?
The reality in doing something like this is that it is akin a startup venture and has many of the same issues.
The good news is that I've answered some the questions above.
The site I'm using is TrainerCentral. It's a fairly new site, only a year old and it has what I've been looking for. The site is at https://www.trainercentral.com
It allows me to establish courses and host webinars.
So far, I've established three 'courses'. They aren't really classes per se. They're more like bundles of downloadable material or access to site links. Two of the 'course' are templates for my Wanna Write a Book project. One version of the template uses the Notion app and the second uses the Milanote app.
The third course is called Fiction Writing Assistance. It consists of 'lessons' that are categories of downloadable material such as character design templates, ebooks on fiction writing, a plot template and a resources listing, all free.
You can access these 'course' at https://hank-quense.trainercentralsite.com/#/allcourses
I plan to soon add similar 'courses' on self-publishing and book marketing assistance.
As for webinars, I have four planned right now probably starting in the middle of January. The first will be on Character Arc and that will be followed by Book Marketing Basics, Scene Design and Self-publishing Basics. Each webinar will be less than a hour. Details on the lectures will follow early next year.
If you know any writers or authors who may be interested in my new site, please pass along this article.
